So this app by Google has been around for many years, but it was only recently that it got a complete redesign. Now, this app is much more powerful and easier to use than before.
Although it’s still integrated into Google Photos, you can download the standalone version of the app on Android and iOS devices. Let’s take a look at how this app works from the following:
1. Open your Android or iPhone device and head to the Play Store or App Store to download Google’s Image Search app. If you use Google Photos on your device, you will find this app as an optional installation when you open it for the first time.
Otherwise, you will see it as another search option in your apps menu.
2. Once installed and opened, you will see a welcome screen where you can choose. So if you want to search images on the web or photos on your device.
In this example, we are looking for images on the Web so tap searching for images on the web. Again, if we go to our photos folder, we will see that Google’s Image Search app keeps all our photos from our Pictures.
Also, the Camera albums are in one place. You can choose between three different views from GridView, ListView, and Categorized View.
Then, you can turn off Auto-Scroll if you prefer not to see related results as you scroll down your list of results.
3. In List View mode, each result includes a title and description of what’s visible in that picture. Tapping on any result will take you directly to the website or app where that image is hosted.
Grid View
If you prefer to see the results as a grid, just tap on Grid View. This Grid View includes two columns of thumbnail images with the left column showing related images.
Also, the right column shows information about what’s visible in each photo. You can switch between these two columns by tapping on the thumbnails on the grid.
Moreover, you can also pinch-to-zoom in and out of the grid by swiping your fingers across the screen. If you want to browse images that are similar to an image in the center of the grid, tap the Similar tab at the top of the grid.
